SPECIAL PEOPLE IN MY LIFE

I was just thinking that you might not have heard of my home town which is - Košice This is a place where I was born and I have lived here all my life except those 5 years which I spent in Bratislava, the capital city of our country, where I was tudying at the Technical University.
If you ever happen to come to Košice you can hardly miss such imposant buildings as the cathedral of St. Elizabeth or the Building of the State Theatre which are in the main street of the city. And if you want to learn something about the history of the region of East- Slovakia you will go to the East- Slovakian Museum.
But if you are fond of fine art you should certainly pay a visit to the Museum of Vojtech Loeffler which is situated in Alžbetina ulica 20. After the death of Vojtech Loeffler who was a renowned sculptor, this house was turned into a museum. You can admire here not only the finest sculputures of Vojtech Loeffler but also a unique collection of paintings by outstanding Slovak artists.
This museum has quite a unique atmosphere . You can almost feel the presence of the late artist and his wife Klárika who spent most of their life within the walls of this building.Their kindness and noble spirit have given a new dimention to the exhibits.
Klárika and Vojtech had no children of their own, so they decided to give support to young artists. According to their will there is a room in the museum which is completely devoted to promising young artists who are at the beginning of their career.
And now you might ask where did I get all this information from? The answer is easy, being a pensioner I decided to be an „amateur guide „ at the Museum of Vojtech Loeffler. So if you ever come to Košice it will be a pleasure for me to show you round……….
